These commentaries are sermons delivered by James Montgomery Boice at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA. They are very easy to read with each chapter approximately 8 pages long. They give a good overview of the passage and bring in stories and other passages to make the basic point. This is not a verse-by-verse exegesis of Scripture.

Boice has a strong Reformed theology and is gifted at bringing truth out of Scripture. The nice thing about these books is that they read more like a story and not like a commentary, which makes them not only good for doing study but also for reading from cover-to-cover.
